Celestial Fortune for CNY 2021
In early 2014, I caught up with my old colleague , who was based in Beijing staying there for quite few years doing event organization from her Hongkong Based office . Since then, all has changed , she was recently heard to have moved backed to Kuala lumpur .
Laura was working once in Singapore , and she was formerly working as a freelenacer copywriter and also has published some books .
During the last time , we met up she gave me a book titled :
Ancient China Mystic 220 B.C Bestows Wealth with Abundance: Find Out China's Well Kept Historiographic Tradition to Attracting Wealth
She wrote the book during her second year in Beijing and did some research both in Taiwan and China as she arranged most of the exhibitions for her German employer out from Hongkong .
the book was meant to be an Amazon single publication - and was good for casual read for anybody who wish to understand the Chinese Culture and also for some short understanding into Buddhism . What caught my interest then was 2 mentioned relics that could be found at the Taiwan National Palace Museum;
the first one namely ; the Tibetan Dragon Canon Sutra
and the next mystic item was then the Pixiu .
In 2017 , Before heading to Japan for my Bakery course , i stayed in Taiwan for a few months and what fascinate me most during my visit to the The National Palace Museum, located in Taipei, Taiwan, which boast it has a permanent collection of nearly 680,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artefacts.
Back then to view the Dragon Canon Sutra , is something ..which is not open to public before 2014 .but only can view through some video at their library .
the following is a picture from one of their exhibites in 2015 with photo compliment from CNA -Tibetan Dragon Sutra @ National Palace Museum's southern branch (CNA Dec. 29, 2015) as follows :-
The Dragon Sutra: The Great Treasury of Buddhist Scriptures in the National Palace Museum ( Compliment by TELDAP - Taiwan elearning and digital archive program |
Among all Tibetan Buddhist sutras in the National Palace Museum's collection, the Tibetan Dragon Sutra, hand-written in gold ink and commissioned by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty in 1669, attracts the most attention. Consisting of six divisions, namely, Rgyud (esoteric teachings), Sher phyin (perfection of wisdom), Dkon brtsegs ..(collected Mahāyāna sutras), Phal chen (flower-garland), Mdo sna tshogs (collected sutras), and Vdul ba (monastic discipline) in a total of 1,057 units, the Dragon Sutra is a Tibetan translation of all "teachings" and "laws" by Śākyamuni himself, and known as the Bkav vgyur (Translation of the world) portion of the Tibetan Tripitaka. With more than 50,000 leaves in 108 cases, the manuscript was written in standard Tibetan script and its front and back boards were decorated with 756 Buddhas, gorgeously and solemnly painted in colors. To Know more about this treasue, the synosis of Ancient China Mystic 220 B.C Bestows Wealth with Abundance: Find Out China's Well Kept Historiographic Tradition to Attracting Wealth.. will provide some insight . Some of the contents in the sutra is actually practise quite widely in Singapore ,but I will elaborate in future post . Some time, I will discuss on some Dhama related subjects which i hope will give better insight into Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism , as I am learning and following on Ven Hai Tao's Teaching, and we feel some time, he will like to express some of his teaching in english . During my last visit at the Museum , it took us 2 days to cover most part of the display but typically , i noticed there are various sites which provide very elaborate description , so I will just typically help some the readyer to identify how the Pixu looks at the Taiwan Museum . Farnkly the one on display was only a small figurine , but is at least 600 years only and before we leave the museuem , We can actually buy similar figurine at the shops .. here I just like to show a small sample Tian Lu - Pixiu with Wings During my Last visit to Shanghai , My parents bought another Version as below ;- But as time evolved, the Pixiu Mythology seems to work for many people and now the trend is that some creative designer is able to minimize and commonize the celestial into a Pixiu Bracelet , whihc is hot sellig in the market especially at the Guan Yin temple at waterloo street and also at Chinatown . I put some Dharma products on my blog and hope your readers will supports some purchase also
